Install

Pluto installs as three unlocked packages.

You need:

  • A System Administrator user in the org.
  • An API key for OpenAI or Azure OpenAI, unless your developers write their own model connection.

Pluto CoreRuns agents. Install it first.InstallInstall
Pluto Model AdaptersConnects OpenAI and other Responses API endpoints.InstallInstall
Pluto ConsoleThe admin console. Optional.InstallInstall

Version 2.0.0.

  1. Install Pluto Core. Use the Production link for a production or Developer Edition org, and the Sandbox link for a sandbox.
  2. Choose Install for Admins Only. You assign access to others with permission sets later.
  3. Install Pluto Model Adapters the same way.
  4. Optional: install Pluto Console the same way. To learn what it changes in your org, see Install Pluto Console.

Install in this order. Pluto Model Adapters and Pluto Console need Pluto Core.

Core has two schedules. The recovery schedule runs every 10 minutes and continues runs that stopped. The retention schedule runs once a day and clears old run data. Runs work without them, but nothing recovers and nothing is cleared.

  1. In Setup, assign yourself the AgentKernelAdmin permission set. The schedules run as the user who installs them.

  2. With Pluto Console: open the Pluto app and its Pluto Home tab. On the Agent Core Health card, click Install or Repair Schedules.

  3. Without Pluto Console: open the Developer Console, choose Debug, then Open Execute Anonymous Window, and run:

    AgentCoreSchedules.install();

In Setup, open Scheduled Jobs. You should see two jobs owned by you whose names start with “Agent Core”. With Pluto Console, the Agent Core Health card should show no schedule problems.

Install the new version of each package with the same links, in the same order. Your agents, tools, and runs stay.

Salesforce can refuse to change a class that a scheduled job uses. If the upgrade fails for that reason:

  1. Remove the schedules. In the Execute Anonymous window, run AgentCoreSchedules.remove();.
  2. Install the new version.
  3. Install the schedules again, as in Turn on Core’s schedules.
