Tool types

Enter the name in the Tool Type field of an Agent Tool. Effects decides what Core does when a call fails.

Tool type	Name	Effects	What it does
Create Record	CreateRecord	Stays in This Org	Creates one record of a configured object from admin-approved fields.
Post to Chatter	PostChatter	Stays in This Org	Posts one text message to a configured Chatter feed or the run’s anchor record.
Query Records	QueryRecords	Stays in This Org	Reads records with one SOQL query the admin wrote. The agent fills in only the query’s :name values.
Run Flow	RunFlow	Stays in This Org	Runs an autolaunched Flow that only reads or changes this org’s records. A failed run is undone.
Run Flow with External Effects	RunFlowWithExternalEffects	Changes Outside Systems	Runs an autolaunched Flow that makes callouts, sends email, or publishes events. An unconfirmed run is never repeated.
Update Record	UpdateRecord	Stays in This Org	Updates one record of a configured object, or the run’s anchor record, with admin-approved fields.
